About Me
On this page you'll discover the highlights of my character that aren't on my resume. Let's begin with a few titles I proudly identify with...
Coach
The privilege of being a Certified Gallup Strengths Coach has been transformative for my career and in my personal growth and development. I am passionate about the positive focus of Strengths and I often coach personal connections when they face challenges or opportunities in their lives where a little more self awareness and reflection are beneficial. I even made my son in law take the assessment and met with him and my daughter before their wedding to discuss how their strengths compliment each other and how they would progress in their relationship by respecting and honoring their differences. It's not just something I do professionally. Coaching is deeply personal for me.

Storyteller
This is a title I continue to work hard for and embody. I love to write, mostly fiction and in various different genres. I've changed professional careers multiple times, but over the last two decades I have never stopped writing. When I have a free afternoon or sometimes in the predawn hours of the morning, I enjoy creating characters, putting them in a turbulent world and always guiding them to love and connection and deeper self-awareness through the joys and trials of their made up lives.
Wanderer
I love to travel and explore interesting places in the world and some not so interesting places where people I care about live. From Fiji to France and New York to Texas, it's hard to beat the excitement of packing a suitcase and boarding a plane knowing on the other end an adventure awaits. I enjoy the new sights and smells of a destination vacation almost as much as arriving in an airport I've seen a hundred times, where my best friend is waiting for a chill weekend and some catching up. Family vacations, professional conference, writing retreat, or bucket list dive trip, if you find me traveling then you've caught me in my happy place.

Mermaid
A few years ago, much to my surprise, I learned how to breathe underwater (using a SCUBA regulator and an air tank...but it counts). Despite a lifelong affinity for the ocean, the beach, and pretty much anything that floats on water, it had never occurred to me to actually try venturing into the deep. With a pointed push from a dear friend, my husband and I went on a discovery dive in St. Thomas and that was that. I didn't even get to complete the dive because my ears wouldn't pressurize, but that obstacle simply triggered my obstinate spirit. I was more determined than ever to get SCUBA certified and a few months later we were diving off the coast of California in the kelp forests of Catalina Island. This new hobby has driven a lot of lifestyle changes for me and I'm looking forward to being a mermaid for a long time to come.
